The Virgin Shuffle

border
Gio Black Peter Brian Kenny

When Gio Black Peter was caught rodgering two of the Duke's pages behind his stables in Ascot, many thought his career as a jockey was over, and for the most part, they were right. It wasn't so much the public sodomy that bothered the Duke, but the fact that his horses Ginger Snap and RedundentRedundent were forced to watch. The horses were emotionaly scarred and never raced the same again. But the grand Duke, ever benevolent, saw a talent in the young wild child, and despite never letting him near the horses again, allowed him to remain in court as an entertainer of sorts. Unfortunately for the duke, keeping Gio around was kind of like finding a wild raccoon and trying to keep it as a pet.

5 years have passed since then and little has changed. Gio may have moved out of the palace but he's still decadent as ever. Using New York City as his stable, Gio's fucking religious beliefs, goverment agenda's, and a boy or two with his art and music, which brings us to The Virgin Shuffle, his new album, passed off to me at Bedlam last night to present as a gift to the Duke. It went something like this:

Gio: Thanks for coming!

Gussy: No problem!

Gio: Let's get naked!

Gussy: Okay!

Gio then got naked, and i stopped after my shirt came off. Yeah, so he won that round. I'm a grower not a shower. Anyhoo...

Seven deadly songs of sin, psychosexuality, and social realism set to throbbing baselines and circus like beats, if you're a virgin listening to it, you won't feel like one once it's over. But don't worry, if you're lucky enough to have an actual CD, you'll have the artwork and his photo to keep you company as you rock yourself to sleep. On Pope Sex Gio croons, "Pope Sex / like a tyrannosaurus rex / I wasn't even finished when i moved on to the next" And hell if i know what he's talking about but the production is slick and could make even a paraplegic get up and dance. Another standout is the collaboration with Strobo Monsters, Don't Tell Me Nothing. And of course, there's the video for the first single REVOLVING DOOR (NEW FUCK NEW YORK) shot by Bruce Labruce. Oh you've only seen the censored one? Let me help you with that.

The Virgin Shuffle is available on iTunes, buy it, scare the horses, and fuck the establishment. The Grand Duke approves.
